President, with path to CEO, at a PE-Backed Tech-Enabled Services Platform

LOCATION: Hybrid 

RETAINED SEARCH PARTNER: Falcon Partners 

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking a President to lead one of its newly acquired portfolio companies, a tech-enabled services and software-enabled services business. This is a structured succession opportunity, with the President expected to transition into the CEO role following a planned value-creation and exit period. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis on this newly acquired platform. They are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods. 

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity.

  • Business Model: Tech-enabled services platform with meaningful services revenue, supported by software 
  • End Market: Mid-market, digital-first businesses 
  • Revenue Range: Mid-market 
  • Hold Period: Exit planned in 2 years 
  • Deal Structure: Control buyout 

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive scale. 

  • Accelerate revenue growth through a disciplined commercial excellence protocol and improved GTM strategy 
  • Professionalize the business with the right application of ROI-driven, repeatable, measurable, and scalable systems and processes. 
  • Diversify customer mix and end market mix for an even stronger foundation. 

THE SPONSOR: This New York City-based private equity firm has a solid history of scaling businesses. Its sector specialties include business services, IT services, and consumer services sectors. Today the sponsor owns 9 active portfolio companies and manages $588M in AUM. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: Tech-enabled services, managed services, system integrator, SaaS-enabled services, or web hosting services 
  • Functional: Senior commercial leader, President or Division President, Business Unit Leader, or other title with similar scope 
  • Orientation: Commercial orientation is preferred 
  • Private Equity: Not required 
  • M&A: Solid integration experience preferred 
  • Tenure: 15+ years of progressive career success
